Baking is more than just a culinary art; it is a heartfelt expression of love, tradition, and faith. Being in the kitchen is a way to express my love for others while connecting me to the past.

Why Pansy's Pralines
Family recipes are treasures that teach us a little about the past, our culture, and the people we love. In cooking or baking, I am able to hone a God-given talent, share a little piece of myself with others, pray through working, and bless someone else with homemade goodness.
The Joy of Baking with Faith
Baking can be a spiritual experience, allowing us to connect with our roots and express our love for others. Baking gives us the opportunity to be Martha AND Mary, if we choose. Here are some ways to incorporate faith into your baking:
Pray Before You Bake: Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit into your kitchen. A simple prayer can set the tone for a joyful experience. If you are gifting your baked goods, pray for the person(s) who will receive.
Share with Others: Baking is a wonderful way to connect with others. Share your baked goods with neighbors, friends, or those in need. Find a non-profit or shelter to routinely bring treats to. It's a beautiful testament to doing "small things with great love."
Create Family Traditions: Gather your loved ones in the kitchen, share stories, and create lasting memories together. I love when my daughter joins me in the kitchen or my mom is with me to re-create old family recipes. Remembering the past and handing down to the future.
Baking as a Form of Self-Care
In today's fast-paced world, taking time for oneself is essential. Baking can serve as a form of self-care, allowing you to unwind and be present in the moment. It allows you to create and be creative. I become the hands and feet of Jesus by doing simple, necessary tasks like cooking, for others.
Pansy's Pralines: A Family Legacy
Pansy's Pralines are not just a recipe; they are a legacy. Each batch tells a story. As you bake your own recipes, consider the memories you are creating and the traditions you are passing down.
Ideas for Connecting with Others
Tasting Party: Host a gathering where friends and family can sample different recipes. Encourage everyone to bring their own family recipe, as well.
Baking Workshops: Organize a baking workshop where you teach others how to make your family's recipes. This can be a fun way to share your skills, connect with your community, and keep your family legacy alive.
Holiday Gifts: Baked/homemade goods in decorative boxes make great gifts for any occasion. Personalize each box with a note sharing the story behind the recipe.
Happy Baking
Baking with faith is a beautiful journey that connects us to our past, our loved ones, and ourselves. Pansy's pralines are more than just a sweet treat; anytime I bake, it is a celebration of love, tradition, and the joy of sharing. As you embark on your own baking adventures, remember to infuse your creations with your unique story and faith.
"O Lord of pots and pans and things, Since I have no time to be a great saint by doing lovely things, or watching late with Thee, or dreaming in the dawn light, or storming Heaven’s gates, Make me a saint by getting meals, and washing up the plates." (Prayer often attributed to Brother Lawrence)
So, gather your ingredients, invite your loved ones into the kitchen, and let the sweet aromas fill your home. Happy baking!
