Hello

My name is Shannon Phillips. I am a daughter of God, wife, mom,
sister, and friend. I am a teacher by trade, but love to bake and make. Cooking for others is my love language...after all, someone has to bring the snacks!

Pansy's Pralines is named after my sweet Aunt Pansy. She was my
great-grandmother's sister.  The story goes that the nuns who taught at her son's school sent a praline recipe home for Aunt Pansy to make because she was a great cook. Her husband took one bite and said they were the best pralines he had ever tasted. She passed down the recipe and our family has been making them for generations. I am honored to share the pralines with you!

My love for baking is rooted in a desire to bring a little joy to those I
love. It also connects me to some of the women I love and miss the
most!

My Story

I have been happily married to Dan for thirteen years.  We were unable to have children, which is one of my greatest sources of suffering, but has also produced so much fruit.  I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but God works when we surrender.  Because we were unable to have children, we were able to open our home and hearts in other ways.  We now have two successful adoptions and a third child, who we pray for daily, but is a failed adoption.  I love to tease my students at the beginning of each semester by telling them I am a 41 year old woman with a 28 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.  It gets some eyebrow raises, but is the launching pad for showing how God works when you say "yes".
