There is a lot of joy in the baking I do. To be in the kitchen creating brings calm, comfort and a sense of purpose. But there are moments of absolute frustration, as well. This past weekend was my daughter's wedding. I was asked to make the wedding cake. This felt a little out of my wheel house, as I have never made a wedding cake before nor am I a great decorator. Our compromise was that I would make the 4 inch top tier of the cake they would cut and cupcakes for all the other guests in the same flavor of the wedding cake.
