A Sweet Ending to a Beautiful Beginning

This past weekend was my daughter's wedding. I was asked to make the wedding cake. This felt a little out of my wheel house, as I have never made a wedding cake before nor am I a great decorator. Our compromise was that I would make the 4 inch top tier of the cake they would cut and cupcakes for all the other guests in the same flavor of the wedding cake.

Then, I was inspired by Pinterest, as is normally the case! One way I show love is through my baking. I love gifting a sweet treat to celebrate, pick up, encourage, say "I'm sorry" or "thank you" or just because.

What was supposed to be cupcakes and a 4 inch cake turned into a dessert bar filled with lots of yummy treats. What made it even better was my mom helping me to fill the table with her signature brownies and, or course, the family pralines.

The bride was beautiful, the day was filled with love and joy....and the table, oh so sweet! It was the perfect ending to a beautiful beginning!
